The perfect traveling companion, Carry on friendly, high capacity. Made in Italy, this unique design took a while to develop. I hand crafted more than a dozen of these as I worked to get the perfect combination of structure and functionality. While the design language is very clean and simple, the construction and functions are quite advanced. Crafted in the finest veg tanned leathers from Italy, lined in Italian linen, featuring YKK Excelsior zippers and solid brass hardware , including six brass feet on the bottom to protect the leather. The straps are designed to be comfortable over the shoulder, while not being so long that the bag drags on the ground when you carry it with your hand. The bag has been designed to be well balanced, remaining upright when you set it down.
On the inside of this bag, you will find a long tethered key fob, and multiple pockets. There is a sleeve on one side for your tablet or laptop. On the other side you will find a removable pocket hung on brass studs with a double end zipper providing access to an inside compartment plus a pouch on its exterior for your phone or wallet along with a hand made, machined brass pen with its own storage sleeve.
On the bottom of this fully lined bag, you will find another removable attaché. When you remove this panel, you will discover a secret zipper on the bottom. Ideal for storing cash and important travel documents, and the size is perfect to put in the safe when you get to your destination.
Take a moment to appreciate the traditional burnished edges on this bag. Traditionally, this time-consuming process required specific skill, expertise, and patience. Nowadays most luxury brands have switched to a “painted edge” and worked hard to get consumers to believe it is a luxury finish. Truth be told, It is a synthetic material that saves them time and money but fails if you actually use the bag over time. A beautiful, burnished edge shows off the natural layers of the organic material and appears almost like wood. Easy to maintain, traditional and worth the effort. Our zipper pulls and enchapes (the small pieces of leather that attach the handles to the body of the bag) are dimensioned. Most modern brands skip this step. To create this effect, you fit another layer of leather that is smaller than the visible leather between the layers. Again, many companies use synthetics here to save some money (if they bother to add dimension at all). J.Ward uses real leather here, even though you will never see it. This detail also increases the strength and longevity of your bag.
